Breakadawn - Vaughn Harper of The Quiet Storm talks Mr. Magic (08.11.84)
What happens when the Rap Attack ends? Vaughn Harper grabs the mic for the Quiet Storm, of course. Here's a quick clip of Vaughn's signature baritone tipping his hat to Mr. Magic and Marley Marl. This one's from August 11th, 1984.
Alright so I just typed that out and realized it may not make any sense. I think I should stop assuming people know what I'm talking about when I rant. For those unfamiliar, The Quiet Storm is a show that would follow Mr. Magic's Rap Attack on WBLS 107.5 FM in NYC.

Fun House Disco Ad From 1983 - Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow, New Edition
Friday night, May the 20th at the Fun House Disco, on 26th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues in New York City, It's the funk, the pump... a reggae party starring Kurtis Blow, Visual, Sweet G, Stargaze, Warp 9, and Run-DMC, along with special guest performances by the "Planet Rock" performer, "Candy Girl" guys and a surprise "Pass the Dutchie" performance. Remember this date - Friday, May 20th at the Fun House Disco.
This sounds like a memorable show at the legendary Funhouse venue. Mr. Magic is the voice on the ad. What's up with the references to Afrika Bambaataa, New Edition and Musical Youth without saying their actual stage names?? The Planet Rock performer? The Candy Girl guys? Anybody know what the deal is with that?
