Driving Big Cars, Spending 20s+10s

It's here and I like it? 2010 is the future. The future is now.

I have many questions- most of them dealing with the lack of flying cars.

So far, has this turned out to be the Willenium we all hoped it would be?

If so, since my name is Will, does the Willenium effect me more? I used to have a coworker I would drive crazy playing this song over and over. Hey, what can I say, I like to celebrate (in style..?). 10 years is a long time, though. I rang in the new millennium ten years ago sick and asleep on my mother's floor in front of a space heater. Ten years later, I rang in a new decade taking care of someone who's sick while watching Dick and Seacrest party like it's 199...

Hold up, it is.

Or was.

Hey, I got a better idea. How about we party like it's 1984?

Mr. Magic's Rap Attack- New Year's 1983 into 1984-

There's some crazy Malcolm McLaren / Marley Marl special mixing going on here. I wish it was recorded with a little less clipping, but it happens. I have to note that it's not me cutting off the beginning of the New Years countdown to be a jerk, it's just how it was on the cassette. I did add a couple Will C. drops though, so technically I AM a jerk.

How's this for a thought- If The Simpsons characters actually aged, they'd look more like this in the newer episodes:

Borrowed from perhaps my favorite episode of all time, Lisa's Wedding. I taped it off the television when it premiered in 1995. It won an Emmy award that year for Outstanding Animated Program.

*Sighhhh* They don't make 'em like they used to.

Happy 2010!

  1. Where did the "special mix" sample come from? I've heard it many many times and never could figure out if it was from a record or the radio show. I know it was cut on the"Eric B. is President" remix, so it had to have been on vinyl at some point.

  2. I'm not entirely positive about that, but I always tend to assume it can be found on one of those "Beats Breaks & Scratches Records" from the Music of Life label. They have a lot of SFX at the end of each side, but I could be wrong about this.

  3. Actually I have a couple volumes of that, I think 9 and 10 but I don't think it's there. I'll have to check again.
