What is this Doug E. Fresh song? Unreleased or Overlooked?

Here's the final excerpt from the August 11th, 1984 broadcast of the Rap Attack, and it's a keeper. Here is the world premiere for a then-brand-new Doug E Fresh record. The only catch is, I've never heard it until now. My question for you is… have YOU heard it?! It is quite possible that this is a more obscure release of Dougie's that I've overlooked, but I wasn't able to find a link to something like this on Discogs, so I'm not sure. Doug E. Fresh die hard fans, chime in on this one!

It was fun unearthing the Howard Park Masta Ace track a couple months back. It would be fun if this was another rarity from a hip hop legend, but it's quite possible this is something that's out there and I'm getting ahead of myself. To be determined…

Joeski Love & Doug E. Fresh Live 1986 via Rap Attack

Here's some audio of Joeski Love and Doug E. Fresh performing live (venue unknown) on Mr. Magic's birthday. The clip comes from a Rap Attack show that broadcast portions of the live performance. The host of the live show was Mr. Magic as well.

Unfortunately, Joeski Love's portion is only the tail-end of Pee-Wee's Dance. Doug E. Fresh gives an always energetic performance of his biggest hit, The Show.

I Want to Rock and Roll All Night (and Part of Every Day)

Here's some audio that shows why Doug E. Fresh's World's Greatest Entertainer moniker is fitting. I was recently speaking with Mr. Magic and we were discussing certain shows and interviews he did. Since it's all fresh on my mind, I figured I'd post some stuff here.

You gotta love when Doug is doing call-and-response with the females in the audience and takes it as far as asking,

"Now, what's your number?"

Also, who doesn't thoroughly enjoy explosions at the end of rap songs? I think it's a welcome addition to the end of "The Show" on this live performance. I don't know if it was added during the WBLS broadcast or what.

You want to listen, you don't want to read my thoughts on it. Just like you don't want to hear a "Will C." ID over any of this audio. What a jerk I am. I gotta refrain from ranting too much on stuff like this anyway. I know that when I'm checking blogs and there's a massive amount of writing uninterrupted by a picture or some other form of entertainment, I sometimes get my skim on. Maybe I'm just lazy. Okay, enough already.

Doug E. Fresh always seems to give great interviews, and I feel like this one in particular is historically significant. Still a teenager, he's riding a high off the success of his "The Show" b/w "La Di Da Di" single. Doug addresses his thoughts on Rush Management, Dennis Bell (producer of "The Show"), dis records aimed at him, and more.

The (Other) Doo Doo

Since it's now officially summertime, I figured it's appropriate to give this one some shine. We got the Fourth of July coming up Saturday here in the states, but to be honest, the weather is turrible. It doesn't even feel like summer with the nonstop rain, so instead of going outside, can I rely on this track to get the mood right?

Everybody always knocks this Doug E. Fresh tune. Too soft for ya? Fun rap can be fun too. There's no way I can feel stupid for enjoying a track with Doug E. Fresh AND the 45 King listed in the credits. I'm envious of the 45 King actually... I want to receive credit on a track for "Doo-doos." That's it, nothing else.

That's right, we got an early Puffy appearance in the "Summertime" video, carrying stuff out the limo trunk (right at the beginning). Is that motivating or demotivating? Gotta start somewhere, I guess. I wasn't sure if demotivating was an actual word, but it's not getting underlined in red. I'm on a roll. Now, if it get only be sunny this Saturday.
